I grew up literally under a sewing machine.
Some of my earliest memories are of sitting beside my mother as she transformed simple pieces of fabric into something beautiful. She was a gifted seamstress who filled our days with stories—stories she created just for me.
In every story was a little girl named Corito.
That little girl was me.
Long before I ever imagined owning a business, my mother had already given it its name.
She also gave me something far more valuable. She taught me patience, creativity, and that when something is made with love, it carries a little piece of the person who created it.
I learned to sew at a young age and spent my life creating clothing, gifts, and home décor for the people I love. My mother's encouragement also inspired another calling. I pursued a career in healthcare, earned my doctoral degree, and had the privilege of caring for others throughout my professional life.
Now, as I prepare for retirement, I find myself returning to where it all began.
Back to the sewing machine.
When my mother passed away, I made myself a promise:
Her story would not end with her.
Corito Designs was born from that promise.
Every piece I create is handcrafted one stitch at a time with care, quality, and love. Whether it's a Kindle cover, a cosmetic bag, a beauty towel, or another handmade treasure, my hope is that it brings beauty, comfort, and joy to your everyday life.
